    • There is so much to do on Instagram nowadays, are you prepared to just share photos or are videos in your future as well?

    • Hey Abigail, great questions!

“What do you think are (three?) key things a small business (national/international reach) should look for when prospecting a Marketing firms?”

      1) Have they already worked with companies in your industry? This has the potential of saving you time and getting right to the good part of implementing successful marketing campaigns. This may also tell you they are the wrong firm because it can definitly be a conflict of interest if they are still working with that client.

      2) Have you checked out their website? How about their social media presence? If they can’t market themselves correctly, what makes them right for you?

      3) Do you like the style of marketing? Beleive it or not, if their marketing materials look dated, their ideas are most likely dated as well.

“What should a small business prepare/read/do in order to have an educated conversation with a potential firm?”

      1) Make sure you have a list of goals. It definitely gets the marketing ideas flowing and out in the open for great brainstorming between you and the potential firm.

      2) Make sure you have a list of all marketing and advertising you have done and are currently doing. This makes it easier to see what has and hasn’t worked so far, and can save time in the process of getting your business to where it needs to be in order to be successful.

      3) Do you get along? If you don’t have a great vibe between the two of you, there is no point in doing business together. I’m not ashamed to say I get emotionally invested with all my marketing clients and the outcome is better because of it. It’s not just about getting the work done, it’s about getting the great results my client’s need, and having that great relationship gets my creative juices flowing and all I ever want to do for the clients I love is make them happy and successful.

In closing, these are just starting points to help you weed out the slew of marketing firms out there promising you successful campaigns and an increase in leads, sales, etc. Once you narrow down that list, have those conversations with the remaining firms. That’s where you’ll know whether or not they are the right firm for you. Good Luck!

    • THanks for the kinds words! Looking forward to connecting with you. 🙂
